Pansies are one of the joys of the cool season gardening. We expect that as one of the first flowers in the kindergarten shelves in the spring, but they are also great in the autumn. Gardener in warmer climates come their smiling faces all winter. Some of the newer pansies can bloom through a light snow, and much later in the heat of the summer. But we really need them if it is too cold for most other plants in a show.
